Personal Counseling

Georgetown Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS)

When students experience life events or academic pressures that leave them feeling anxious, confused, lonely, angry, depressed, or overwhelmed, it is often helpful to speak with a professional. Confidential evaluation services are available at the Law Center and at the Georgetown main campus through CAPS, Georgetown's primary mental health agency for students and the campus community. Its mission is to collaborate directly with students in overcoming difficulties that may interfere with defining and accomplishing their educational, personal, and life goals. The Law Center CAPS clinical staff includes two psychologists.

The Law Center CAPS office is located in Gewirz Center L-102-G.
For appointments, please call the Intake Coordinator at (202) 687-6985.

Sexual Assault & Relationship Violence Liaison (SARVL)

The SARVL coordinates free and confidential sexual assault and relationship violence services for Georgetown Law students, including crisis intervention and options counseling. More information on reporting an assault, support services for survivors of assault, and helping a friend is available from the Law Center SARVL.
